Performance Evaluation of IEEE 802.22 WRAN Based on Cognitive Radio through NETSIM

Abstract— A Cognitive radio is multi dimensionally aware and autonomous system that learns from its experience to plan its future operation. This communication system focuses on dynamic spectrum usage rather than fixed spectrum assignment. Through NETSIM version7, performance of spectrum sensing in terms of data traffic is shown, by varying number of incumbents and number of operational interval. Data traffic is in terms of packets transmitted, packets error, Bytes transmitted, and overhead transmitted. Comparison between various codec standard of voice is also depicted.
